Happy Monday ! Today's post is a very easy but VERY pretty one !
Enjoy !
While unpacking some boxes after the move I noticed that one of our lamp shades had broken. Disappointed but not heart broken as I was never "in love" with the lamp in the first place, I decided to attempt recovering the shade before throwing it out. Pat on the back for this one as it turned out better than I expected ! Don't you love when this happens ?
I bought this huge pack of coffee filters while shopping at this amazing liquidation store just a ways out of town. Not because I drink coffee (I'm a tea & latte gal) but because I thought I could use them for some sort of craft around the house, oh and because I couldn't pass up a 4 dollar deal!
I found this picture on Pinterest and fell in love with the shade. Dun dun dun ! I'm not a sewer (yet..) so it was out of the question for me to attempt the sewing on this one. Instead, I decided to put the filters to good use on my broken shade, as I though it would give it a similar "fluff" effect.
After finishing this project, I was excited and proud, so I decided to sent it's picture to a couple of friends. Their response: "Don't you just love Pinterest for that stuff?"
What? Huh? What ?!? You mean, I wasn't the genius one to think of this first ?
Shoot. Oh Pinterest, you seriously get me every time don't you ?
After hearing this, I immediately jumped on Pinterest and noticed that they were all over the site ! Amazing ! I really do need to get back to being addicted to that site, or maybe it's best not too, I feel smarted thinking I thought of these "projects" by myself ! :)
Here are my steps :
From there you just keep gluing the filters until the lamp is covered. Warning : This project takes about 2 hours (with a few breaks to play cars & trains with C.A.P), it also takes A LOT of glue sticks (I used about 22 mini glue sticks, but come on, it's so worth it !)
As you can see I added another last laying of filters to the top of the shade so the original shade was completely covered.
That's it !
You're done, and this is what your finished new and improved lamp looks like !

Don't you just want to stare at it all day? No? Just me?
Thanks so much for dropping in today !
Come back Wednesday for another visit.
Bye.Cya.
