Hi ho, it's Friday ! I'll celebrate by sharing another DIY with you !
As everyone probably already knows letter monograms are "so hot right now" (Zoolander voice).
I really wanted one to put on the dresser in the front entrance, but wasn't ready to pay 15 bucks for a painted wooden letter.
Instead, this morning, I turned into a slightly less crafty Martha and put one together myself !
Check it out.
Not too shabby right ? I'm actually really excited with the way it turned out. I've "walked" by it like 7 times already.
* 2 of Mr.'s old t-shirts (He could afford for a couple to go missing, have you not seen THESE pictures ?)
* Some tin foil (No name queen right here.)
* A picture frame that no longer matched any of my decor
* A bag of buttons (Bought these babies from Walmart for 3 dollars. Is anyone as excited as me about this?)
* A piece of scrap book paper
* Glue gun
First I picked the buttons I wanted to make up my letter.
I then placed them on the scrap book sheet exactly where and
how I wanted them so I could avoid any mistakes.
I'm seriously prone to making them when it comes to crafts.
After the placing and gluing of the buttons was complete I moved on to the frame.
I decided to cover it "Mummy" style with the white t-shirt. (I know my Mr. is freaking out at his office reading this post. I can seriously bet you a hundred dollars he is sweating in his seat while thinking : "Now what shirt of mine did she use now"). T-shirt inventory tonight !
Buttons glued - Check
Frame covered - Check
Missing something....CHECK.
I decided to make 3 rosettes out of another one of Mr.'s t-shirt. (God love him, he is sweating bullets now, I just know)
These are all over Pinterest and I've listed the link below on how to make them.
So simple - genius really.
1.Cut stripes of t-shirt.
2. Fold tin foil
3. Wrap t-shirt around foil
4. Shape into a rosette
Here is the link where I got the idea.
I then glued the finished rosettes on the frame.
Done & done !
I think it makes a great addition to the dresser, the little bird even told me he loved it.
Successful craft.
Have a great weekend everyone, come back Sunday !
Bye.Cya
