I'm so excited about this project - we just finished it last night !
Phew !
One of my favorite rooms in our home is the living room, probably because I have a huge crush on any room with high ceilings.
I looked forever (...okay, a week) for something to fill the main wall in the room, the wall is big and I knew that finding a picture to fit it would mean big bucks - not interested.
I looked around Pinterest for some ideas and found a cute picture of some painted ceiling medallions.
Yes, perfect !
Wait - Holy BEEP. Those things are expensive !
I shopped around for a few weeks, hoping they would go on sale, they of course didn't, but I did find some cheaper ones, so I bought those instead.
Painted my medallions and put them.
Woo, I'm so hap...Ow, BEEP, wait, those look horrible!
But after having spent money, time and the Mr.'s patience lining them up, I wouldn't dare say my idea was in fact a very bad one.
So, instead, I said I liked it, and avoided any future eye contact with it...
Until I found a nice grey wallpaper from Kent - on sale.
(PS - please note, I never find wallpaper on sale - Hallelujah)
This brings me here.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do !
First I used painters tape to make a box the size you want your frame.
Wallpaper away !
Pretty eh ?
Oh, just you wait...
We bought some baseboards from Home Depot and I painted them black then the Mr. cut them to form a frame to fit my wallpaper rectangle.
We hammered the nail halfway through the baseboards before putting them to the wall to make sure they wouldn't split while being put up.
My project helper.
He just looks handy, doesn't he ?
Finished frame :
Now to stick those painted babies on...
God love these.
Adhesive dots and hot glue could save the world.
Amen to that.
And it's complete !
Remember that big round iron thingy ?
Yeah - that's it HERE.
I told you it would come to great use in the new place !
Now to touch up the nail heads with black paint - but that will be for the weekend.
Hope you like the look of our new living room wall - The only thing left to do for the room is to make the curtains, hopefully I'll have time to attack those next week -Stay tuned !
Bye.Cya

What a great idea to do a small area of wallpaper! Wallpaper can get pretty pricey so this is definitely easier on the wallet! New follower. :)
